Habagat

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported on Monday three casualties from incidents caused by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat enhanced by Tropical Storm Karding.

Habagat affected a total of 248,080 families or 1,057,767 persons in 713 barangays in Regions I, III, CALABARZON, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Metro Manila.

Assistance amounting to P44,491,298 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), local government, and nongovernment organizations were provided to residents in Regions I, III, CAR, and NCR.

Of these, 12,647 families or 54,682 individuals are being served in 110 evacuation centers while 1,077 families or 4,426 sought refuge elsewhere.

About five out of 3,178 damaged houses in Regions I and III were totally damaged while 3,127 received partial damage.
